What does it mean to be a parent?
By definition, a parent is a caregiver that nurtures and raises a child, ensuring that their basic needs are met. To protect your child from anything harmful, shielding them from all sources of danger.
The reality, however, is that you cannot protect your child all the time. There will be emergencies where your child could potentially get injured. Rather than be helpless and unable to help them, be prepared to step forward and take care of them.
Our Child First Aid Course, as accredited by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC), was designed specifically to equip caregivers with the necessary skills to protect their children.
From pre-school teachers to grandparents, anyone that is responsible for a child should have some form of basic first aid.
Child First Aid: A Breakdown

As with any standard first aid course, the purpose of our Child First Aid course is to provide caregivers with the knowledge and skills to recognise and mitigate medical emergencies such as broken bones, concussions and choking, to name a few.
Protecting children is the first and foremost priority behind the course.
Parents and other caregivers usually are the first responders during a medical emergency involving a child. By attending this course, they are not only equipping themselves with essential skills, they are also safeguarding their loved ones against potentially life-threatening situations.

Attending one course, however, is not enough. To ensure that their skills are kept up to date, it is recommended that all certified first responders attend refresher courses.
This 1 day course renews their certification for 2 years, and provides them with the opportunity to practice their skills in a controlled environment. Doing so increases their confidence in doing the right steps should a real emergency occur.
Who Should Get Certified?

Recognised by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) and the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), this course is the best option for those working in childcare, preschools, child activity areas and other workplaces that care for children.
Offered in both English and Mandarin, participants are also eligible for Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) and the Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) funding.
This course is not only for educators; parents, grandparents, and other caregivers are highly encouraged to attend as well. Over the span of 2.5 days, they will cover the basics of first aid for adults and children.

Crucial life-saving skills such as conducting CPR, using an AED and managing medical emergencies such as unconsciousness and wounds are takeaways that they can expect.
What’s more, our courses are available for SSG Subsidies and participants can use Skillsfuture Credits to offset any payable balances.
This will help to ease the burden for new caregivers, particularly first time parents, and ensure that they are able to protect their families in the best way possible.
